Current site maps and building designs
As with any new building, details can change, up until they are ‘set in concrete.’ This site plan and building drawings are the latest from the architect as of February 2011. |
Apartment Features
There are 20 apartments in the Raven Landing building on three floors, plus a Commons on the ground floor. The design is both spacious and cheerful, and lends itself to widely varying décor. Half the apartments are one-bedroom, half are two-bedroom, and every apartment has a balcony or patio, large rooms, a complete kitchen, and washer/dryer hookups.
One-bedroom units have 720 square feet, with one bathroom. Two-bedroom units have 910 square feet with 1.5 bathrooms. Most bathrooms feature large walk-in/roll-in showers; a few have tubs.
All are completely ADA compliant, easily accommodating wheelchairs, with provisions for sight or hearing impairment. A wireless pull-cord emergency call system ensures immediate response to any apartment or common area, and the building has smoke, CO, and heat detectors as well as sprinklers throughout.
The building contains a large elevator and two stairwells. A common laundry room is available to all residents at no additional charge. An entry security system with video protects residents from unauthorized visitors.
The building has a wireless internet system, private phones, cable TV, and an in-house channel for announcements, etc.
Raven Landing apartments are designed to be homey and beautiful, enabling a happy and full lifestyle while accommodating the extra needs of old age. The goal is to remain independent for as long as possible, while being free from maintenance chores.
The second apartment building, to be constructed starting this June, will have 14 two-bedroom and 6 one-bedroom apartments, very similar to the existing ones. An enclosed corridor will connect each Common Room with the Community Center, whose first phase is expected to be constructed soon.
